Limit Prompt Access
Restrict certain users access to certain prompts
With TypingMind Custom, you can control which prompts are visible to different user groups by restricting access based on tags.
This allows you to manage prompt visibility and make sure that only authorized team members or users can access certain prompts.
Step 1: Set tags for your team members
To set tags for your team members, follow these steps:
- Go to the “User list” section from the Admin Dashboard.
- Choose a member to whom you want to assign a tag.
- Click on that user email and create a tag.
Step 2: Assign Tags to Prompts to Manage Visibility
To assign a user tag to a prompt, do as follows:
- Go to the “Prompts Library” section from the Admin Dashboard.
- Select “Add Prompt” to create a new prompt, or “Edit” an existing prompt.
- Scroll down to the “Visibility” section and select from the drop-down menu:
- “Visible only to users with tags”: once you add tags, users in these certain tags are allowed to use the model
- or “Visible to all users except users with tags”: once you add tags, users in these certain tags ARE NOT allowed to use the model.
For example, if you want only members with the "advanced" tag to access the “English Pronunciation Helper” prompt, simply add the "advanced" tag to that prompt.
Here's what the chat interface will look like for team members with the "advanced" tag:
Use Cases
Restrict Prompt Access for Different Departments / Roles in a Company
With TypingMind Custom, you can specify which prompts each department of your company can access. This ensures that each department only has access to the prompts relevant to their work.
For example, you can tag your marketing team members with a “Marketing” tag and assign this tag to all prompts specifically designed for marketing tasks.
This way, only the marketing department will see these prompts on their chat interface.
Restrict Prompt Access for Different User Levels
TypingMind Custom can also be used to control the visibility of prompts between:
- Intern / Staff and High-level positions
- Visitors / Guests and Team members
Visitors could be tagged “Visitors” and have access only to basic prompts while Team members receive the “Member” tag and gain access to more advanced prompts.
Note
Beside Prompt restriction, you can also restrict users access to certain AI Agents and certain chat models.
